About   ResinCraft

That's me... Jean Mellen, beside my husband Steve Ross. If I am not pouring resin, you can find me traveling with Steve, and enjoying great food along the way.
I started working with Resin in 2020, as a result of school closures due to Covid 19. Although I spent many hours in front of a computer, teaching and creating online lessons, I had a need to create, so I filled the extra time with travel and gardening.  This is not to suggest that I neglected my teaching duties...This was the first time in my educational career that I was able to complete the work of teaching in the allotted 40 hours per week.

Most people that I spoke to during that time, jumped into baking, sending out loaves and loaves of banana bread.  I don't particularly like banana bread, so I decided to find something else to fill that creative need. I researched several activities and decided to try my hand at creating Resin jewelry and other items.  As I loved to garden, utilizing the flora from my own yard was a first step. This quickly evolved into creating dioramas and memorials as my friends and family asked for different products.  After several trips to the coast of New England, I also learned to create pendants to represent sea life in that area.

Of course, one can't visit New England without encountering a few old cemeteries. After spending a month in Salem, Massachusetts, I wished to explore my darker side. No one should be too surprised...When I was a preteen, my posters were not the latest teen idols; My wall was covered with Lon Cheney Jr. (Wolf man), and Bela Lugosi images. Check my Horror page to see these expressions of demented resin.

Now days, you can find me pouring resin in the craft room, working in the garden, taking photos, and traveling with my husband. Oh, and you can always count on photos of us sampling food wherever we go.
